Dot3 Brakefluid refractometer Precision optical testing instrument for measuring the boiling point and water content of DOT3 and DOT4 brake fluids.
dot3 brakefluid hand refractometer

Handheld Refractometer – DOT3 Brake Fluid

Hand refractometers are made with a variety of different scales to measure dissolved solids in solution.

Hand refractometers are categorized according to the type of measurement scale required. All are easily transportable for field use, simple to use, and require only an outside light source to be functional. Models with the ATC designation are Automatic Temperature Compensated over a 40ยบ F temperature range.

Included: One Adjustment Screwdriver; One Pipette

Brake Fluid Refractometers
Brake Fluid Refractometers are precision optical testing instruments for measuring the boiling point and water content of DOT3 and DOT4 brake fluids. In seconds and with only two drops of brake fluid an accurate indication of the boiling point or percentage of water content can be obtained. Brake fluid may be measured from the master cylinder or from each of the wheel cylinders. Many automobile manufacturers recommend regular brake fluids inspections, but until now there was never an easy, inexpensive means for testing it. The Brake Fluid Refractometer represents the most accurate field testing means available for determining the boiling point and water content of brake fluids.

Refractometers in Education

Refractometers are useful tools in education that connect theory with practice. From basic science classes to advanced labs, these instruments let students explore the world of refraction.

About Refractometers

A refractometer is a scientific instrument designed to measure the refractive index of a substance. The refractive index is a dimensionless quantity that describes how light propagates through a medium, indicating the degree to which light is bent or refracted. This property is dependent on factors such as the composition, density, and concentration of the substance being analyzed.

How Inline Refractometers Work

Inline refractometers are commonly used in various industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemical processing, and environmental monitoring. They provide real-time monitoring of the quality or concentration of a substance by measuring its refractive index, which can be correlated with parameters such as concentration, purity, or density.
